How do I pay for my Rentals or Purchases?  As long as you have a valid debit/credit card on file, you rental or purchase fees will automatically be charged to the card on file. For more information, click here.

How do I collect payment for things I’ve rented or sold?  As long as your account remains active with a valid credit/debit card on file, your income -  minus the industry standard 15% (or 10% “buy now”) transaction fee - will automatically be credited to your credit/debit card. For more information, click here.

Why Can’t I Rent an Item that Shows Available?  First – you must be a registered User.  Second, check to see that you are within the Owner’s allowable degree of separation from you to rent the item.  Second – you may have to reach out to a mutual social connection to vogue for you with the item’s owner.  Lastly - Once the Owner accepts your connection request at a lower degree of separation, you should have no problem completing your transaction from that Owner.

Is the service safe?  Yes! The name SixDegreeRentals.com explains it all.  The core concept is that you will never rent to or from a Stranger, but rather only from people you personally know.  Couple this with the fact that all transactions happen online; thus no cash money will ever have to change hands in person.

What happens if I need to cancel the rental transaction?  Will I get my money back?    Yes!  However, if both Users accept the Rental terms and condition, then to get a refund, the Renter must ask the item Owner to contact SixDegreeRentals.com to initiate the refund process.    Please note:  that SixDegreeRentals.com has 72 hours to refund the Renter.  For more Information, click here.

How can I make sure that I’m protected in the event of injury, death or dismemberment?   SixDegreeRentals.com maintains its own insurance but does not provide insurance coverage to its Users.  SixDegreeRentals.com is not an insurance carrier nor agent of Insurance products.  To protect ones self, it is recommended that Users seek private insurance to protect themselves and their personal property.

How can I protect against loss, stolen or damaged items?  As part of the Rental Agreement between Users, both Parties must accept the financial terms of Rental. In addition to the daily, weekly monthly agreed upon price, the Users would also have to agree on the “replacement cost” of the Rented item. If an Item is lost, stolen or damaged, the Owner will need to contact SixDegreeRentals.com to notify us that the Agreed replacement Cost Fee (minus a 10% processing transaction fee) must be collected and deposited into the Owner’s account.

How to buy an item instead of renting?  Yes - only if the Owner is interested in selling an item and not just renting.  If an Owner is willing to sell an item, he/she must click the “buy now” button when listing an item for rent.    The buy now price will be equivalent to the listed replacement cost price.  Thus, a Renter can only purchase – if they see a buy now price listed Browsing items.

How much does it cost to register?  Nothing, it is completely FREE to register.

How much are transaction fees?  15% of the total Rental Fee or 10% of the total purchase fee collected.

How do I get charged for my rental?  Once the Users agree on the financial Terms of the Rental Transaction, SixDegreeRentals.com, via its Merchant Banker, will automatically pre-authorize the Renter’s credit/debit card for the higher amount among the daily, weekly, monthly and replacement cost pricing.  The bank will capture the full amount of the Rental from the Renter and make the appropriate payout to the Owner on the 1st day of the rental period. For more information, click here!

What if I need to extend my rental term?  The Renter must 1st see if the item is available via the SixDegreeRentals.com Interactive calendar.  If the item is available, the Renter must begin the entire rental transaction process all over again.

What is a “buy now” transaction fee? If an Owner is willing to sell an item to a Renter, SixDegreeRentals.com will capture the full purchase price from the Renter’s credit/debit card and then disperse the funds (minus the standard 10% purchase price transaction fee) to the Owner’s account.

What’s the difference between a credit card pre-authorization and a charge?   The pre-authorization makes sure renter’s credit/debit card can handle any of the Rental transaction fees.  If Pre-authorization is denied – then there is no rental Agreement.  A Charge is the full amount charged for the total rental transaction. The charge occurs on the very 1st day of the start of the rental period.

Who has access to my credit/debit card information?  No one - other than the Six Degree Rentals Merchant Banker.  SixDegreeRentals.com does not store this information anywhere on our site.

What if I need to cancel my rental reservation?  Once you accept a Rental as a Renter, you may cancel up to forty-eight (48) hours prior to the commencement of the Rental period.  For more on cancellations, click here!

What happens if I need to cancel the rental transaction?  Will I get my money back?    Yes!  However, if Users accept the Rental terms and condition, then to get a refund, the Renter must ask the item Owner to contact SixDegreeRentals.com to initiate the refund process.    Please note:  that SixDegreeRentals.com has 72 hours to refund the Renter.

What if the Owner is unwilling to issue you a refund?  Other than for lost, stolen or damaged items, Renters should first try and resolve the issue with the Owners (after all they are people you personally know), but if all attempts to get a refund occurs, Renters should contact us at info@SixDegreeRentals.com.

What if I only want to rent something weekly instead of daily or on a 3-day basis?   Simply place a zero (0) in the daily and 3-day field.  This will alert the Renter that this item can onkly be rented for a week or more at a time.

Why is my item photo uploading horizontally?  For some types of mobile phones uploaded images may appear horizontally when uploaded.  We’re working on it and in the next version the system will cover all types of mobile phones. But for now the best way to upload an image is find the actual product image from the Internet, copy it to your desktop and add the it via the image uploader.

What if I have additional questions?  Feel free to send us an email at: info@SixdegreeRentals.com.
